MAMA NEEDS A DRINK: Support / fun / and educational resources for new mothers with infants up to 1 year old!
with KAZIA CUMBLER
& ROBYN MURGIO

Fridays :: 3:00 - 4:15 p

Mama Needs a Drink is as much a social gathering as it is a support group. Our aim is to bring mamas and their babies (0-12 months) together to listen, encourage and share their experiences.

Our role, as hosts, will be to moderate discussions and act as an informational resource. We will also provide an array of skilled professionals to offer relevant information for you and your baby.

Perhaps more importantly, we will help bring you together with other mamas; providing you with an opportunity to form new friendships and build a reliable support network. Weekly get-togethers will be held in a fun, nurturing, safe space where you can bring your baby and whatever is on your mind. You will find open ears, lively conversation, advice and information--all while treating yourself to snacks, a glass of wine or cup of coffee.

RELATIONAL MINDFULNESS: CULTIVATING AUTHENTICITY AND TRANSPARENCY IN HOW WE RELATE WITH DEBORAH EDEN TULL
Saturday, June 15 :: 1:00 - 4:00 p

If we live as if the purpose of every meeting is a heart-to-heart encounter, we give ourselves permission to let down our guard, go beyond the limitations of the conditioned mind, and cultivate great freedom, ease, and authenticity in how we relate. Transparency is freedom… Freedom is transparency.

We’re conditioned to bring all kinds of extra weight and baggage we often don’t know we’re carrying into social relating. We exert effort, make assumptions, assess and judge (self and other), preview and review interactions, try to impress, assume separation and difference rather than connection, and even try to control how we are received. All of this takes us further away from the natural ease and intimacy that reflects our inherent interconnectedness with one another. This workshop is about letting go of the needless effort and turning our attention to the joyful, compassionate, and courageous practice of in-the-moment authenticity. Relating “in the moment” with one another is a form of meditation that allows us to express, listen, see, and be seen. Through relational mindfulness we receive a gift of connection with ourselves and with others that we can carry into daily life.

A SUMMER SOLSTICE YIN YOGA JOURNEY
with Biff Mithoefer and Prema Mayi

Friday, June 21 :: 6:30 - 8:30 p

The quiet practice of Yin Yoga is a shamanic journey that takes us into the depths of our emotional and physical bodies. In this class, Biff Mithoefer will be joined by Prema Mayi a master drummer, and together they will weave poetry, drumming and chanting to create a space for participants to sink deeply into the simple, long held Yin postures. The practice will end gracefully Kirtan led by Prema.

Biff Mithoefer has taught yoga at Nosara Yoga Institute in Costa Rica, Omega Institute in Rhinebeck N.Y., and at workshops in the US and Internationally. He is a 500-hour Yoga Alliance registered teacher and has trained and taught extensively with Don & Amba Stapleton. He has also received training as an Advanced Yoga teacher in Forrest yoga, Yin yoga and anatomy by Paul Grilley, and Yin and Hatha yoga bySarah Powers. He has studied shamanism with teachers of the Shapibo tradition of Eastern Peru, and is a student of cross-cultural shamanism, as taught by Angeles Arrien. Biff is the author of The Yin Yoga Kit and co-author of The Therapertic Yoga Kit. He is a founder and director of the Jamtse Sponsorship Project, for the support of Tibetan refuge children. He lives in Vermont with his wife Amy and their two sons, Ben and Peter.

Prema Mayi was born in Chile. At the age of twelve, she entered an ashram of Bhakti Yoga in Europe. Now, thirty years later, her natural, gentle zeal for bhakti is embellished with a warm-hearted maturity and an inspiration to share with others what she has imbibed, through the medium of sweet and melodic kirtan.
